[edit] Alternatives to iTunes?
Here is a short list of software that claims to be able to take the place of iTunes. Of course, they are generally meant for file transfer and library synchronization, not purchasing music or video from Apple.
- Ephpod Ephpod is free, open-source, but not very up-to-date.
- Anapod Anapod is not free, or open source, but is more up-to-date.
- Foo_Pod Foo_Pod is for users of Foobar 2000, the free audio player. Mostly for audio. Somewhat more advanced.
- Xplay A commercial Windows plugin which does synchronization. Does not transfer video.
