Talk:Refactoring Ideas
From The Neuros Technology Wiki
I'll leave my comments here since I'm afraid it'll just create a mess otherwise, but as I stated, I'm not eager to create new widgets that won't be compatible with Qt (or whatever toolkit). I'm all for refactoring OSDMain, it seems like that's a step we need to do, but I'm against creating more incompatible attachments to cooler and anything that grows cooler or otherwise makes it harder to move away from. I don't buy the attitude that we'd made a decision to go with cooler a year ago and now we're stuck for ever. Bottom line, Gao says it'll take two months to move OSDMain to a different toolkit, *anything* that increases that time, i'm opposed to --JoeBorn 00:12, 4 March 2007 (CST)
[edit] Too crazy for the main page: Web Browser as primary UI
I'd really like to see the primary interface be written entirely as a web page that is locally served. Then, you'd just use whatever toolkit provides you the fastest web interface. You'd just need some media plug-ins and some standard javascript for control shortcuts. I don't know enough about the platform to know what X applications you are running. --Jadon 10:55, 17 March 2007 (CDT)
