[edit] About Me

I have a history with embedded devices - but with proprietary hacks/firmware functions. My latest work has been on the PSP and the Archos Gmini402 (with medios).
I prefer high level languages, and am particularly a fan of Lua.
My purpose for coming to neuros is to work on the N3. A small, open, portable device with storage does not exist as yet - i hope to make it happen.

[edit] Current Projects:

I'm currently working on a few things.
1. Web MPD Interface - Written in lua
Totally themeable

2. Youtube Downloader/Browser - a interface to browse lua from the OSD, requires h263 codec to be implemented.
Youtube outputs files in FLV (h.263)

3. GoogleVideo Downloader/Browser - same thing with youtube, but with google video.
GoogleVideo can output 3 file types: FLV (h.263), MP4 (ipod & psp formats - i believe h.264) and AVI/GVI (divx with an extra header).

[edit] N3 ideas/concepts:

Hardware:
Bluetooth }
Wifi { (Ti's Wilink does BT, wifi & Fm)
FM Radio (receiver) }
Irda
Serial
FM Transmitter
USB Host
USB 2.0 HiSpeed Slave
Features:
Can act as OSD remote
Software:
Library generated by N3 itself - no special PC software needed, drag+drop Interfacing with Microsoft Zune

Design:
Joystick like that of the analogue stick on the psp - rotate it to scroll, also functions as a dpad (or sorts)
Usuable from 3 sides - Symmetrical on the portrait axis, screen can be landscape either way, and still comfortable.
Dockable/Modular Design - you get the basic N3, then pick and choose storage & battery
